An exciting opportunity to join the MFL team at Oasis Academy Sholing

Our academy is “A kind place to learn” – Ofsted, 2025
“Staff follow clear routines, which help students meet the school’s high expectations for behaviour. Lessons are typically calm, and teachers can teach without disruption.” – Ofsted, 2025
We are looking for a passionate and committed Teacher of MFL, with the ability to teach French across Key Stage 3 and 4. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Early Career Teacher, or a more experienced practitioner.
You will join a supportive, experienced department and contribute to a growing subject area that we are passionate about further developing across the Academy. We aim to increase the number of students studying languages at Key Stage 4 by delivering an engaging curriculum and offering meaningful extracurricular opportunities.
What we offer:
• A friendly, supportive environment with colleagues who care
• Opportunities for training and development internally and externally, including NPQML, NPQSL, and NPQH programmes
• Integrated IT provision with your own laptop and iPad
• The exciting Oasis benefits package for discounts on leisure, food, and holidays
• Health Shield Cash Plan with 24/7 GP access, physiotherapy, dental cover, and emotional wellbeing support
• Defined benefit Teachers’ Pension Scheme
• Cycle-to-work scheme
• Free use of our dedicated staff gym
We are looking for someone who can:
• Teach French to a high standard at Key Stages 3 and 4
• Use a range of teaching strategies to inspire and motivate students
• Contribute to the development of the MFL curriculum and share best practice
• Embrace the use of digital learning, including iPad-led instruction
• Actively support the wider life of the school and uphold the Oasis ethos
For an informal discussion about the role and the Academy, please contact Lisa Travers, Head of Department, via the contract details on our website.
This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016), and the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement.
